We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machine Operator/Setter to join our dynamic team. In this role, the CNC Setter/Operator will be required to set and operate the CNC machines efficiently and effectively producing quality components to satisfy customer requirements. If you have extensive experience and knowledge of setting and operating CNC Machinery, we invite you to apply and help drive our workshop to the next level of excellence.




Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in CNC machine oerating and setting

  • Extensive with Quasar milling machines

  • Extensive with Okuma turning machines

  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent

  • Proven and demonstratable experience in the steel industry in a CNC operator and setting role

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (3D & Flat pattern)

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, welding best practices and terminology

  • Excellent communication & listening skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving

  • Self-motivated and able to work to required targets and respond to the needs of the business

  • Able to work alone as well as part of a team

  • Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines

  • Able to work accurately under pressure






Responsibilities

  • Setting and operating machine tools efficiently and effectively to an acceptable level of performance

  • Machining a variety of components in different batch quantities within required standards

  • Checking the quality of all parts manufactured to ensure they are within tolerance

  • Reading and interpretation of CNC programs, editing of speeds and feeds if required

  • Ensure quality standards and specifications are met for all milling & turning jobs

  • Monitors shop conditions, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment

  • Ensure that planned work is executed according to the agreed schedule and quality standards

  • Maintain effective communication with production team, sales team and management to ensure client requirements are met

In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the steel services industry

  • Minimum 10 years experience in sheet metal design

  • Relevant draughting degree (preferred) or equivalent

  • Proven and demonstratable experience in the steel industry in a production management role

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (3D & Flat pattern)

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, welding best practices and terminology

  • Computer literate (Office 365, Planner, Sharepoint, Excel, Outlook etc)

  • Excellent communication & listening skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving

  • Self-motivated and able to work to required targets and respond to the needs of the business

  • Able to work alone as well as part of a team

  • Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines

  • Able to work accurately under pressure
